Protective loneliness

Protective loneliness

I see it all to clear

As we walk into the plentitude

All the while our secrets near

While nothing is exposed to foes, or friend or enemies

Hidden in the walking tall,

A self-controversy

We reach out with our arms, but only half extended so

To avoid all disappointment when they decide to let us go

Residual, yet suicidal, a blanket mask the truth

By the time you know it you’ve forgot who’s really you

Its incredible the masks we wear, yet mirrors are so clear

As we long to mask reflection , in hopes to drown out the tears

  1. This is my favorite so far! It reads as though you are awakening...is that wierd? Most people are comfortable to just play along, play their role. Never actually being transparent and speaking their truth to themselves or their fellow man. It sounds like you need to speak your truth and I hope that you continue to do so.
